My journey in sex work began in mainstream porn and while the idea of getting paid to get laid appealed to me very much so, I eventually grew tired of playing your average, slutty bimbo next door. So, disappointed, I put the idea of porn away for a while and did other things, like stripping. Then I found the awesomeness that is I Shot Myself and its sister porn sites and fell in love. I flew to Australia just to work for them, which was truly (as cliche as it sounds) a life changing experience. I Shot Myself has done more for me than I can really articulate but mostly it introduced me to the idea of being the boss of my own images and allowed me the room to play with the message that those images can communicate.

I’m in love with the earth and believe that we are so much more connected to it and each other than we realize or want to admit (as a culture). I identify as being eco-feminist and thusly the porn I make  relays my ideals in this area. There are so many paralells between how our society regards the earth/nature/dirt to its attitudes towards sexuality/women/sex workers. Sexuality is the core of the human experience as dirt and nature are the basis for life.

I call I Shot Myself and my photos/videos “porn” for a very specific reason: I want to change the images that come to the general public mind when the word porn pops up.

Pornography simply means the depiction of human sexuality on film, so why can’t that be a positive thing?

I believe that porn can be an artistic platform for political messages (because sexuality connects us all) and this is mine: embrace your humanity, revel in being a primal animal, tune into your root chakra and love the land that you live on.
