Agreed that people should come before profits. But after doing some research on the subject it appears that Capatalism in various forms has been around long before the Republican Party. In all civilizations, Capatalism has existed albeit in limited form. In our own country it existed long before we became an independent nation. An obvious abuse of the system would be in the slave trade of this country, which was subsequently abolished by President Abraham Lincoln( a republican) with the Emancipation Proclomation which consisted of two executive orders one in September 1862 and the other in 1863.
It was of course finally oboloshed in the US; with the 13th Amendment in 1865.
The 13th Amendment was part of the Republican platform when Linclon ran for his second term.

It's strange. A lot of people can say they remember what they were doing when Kennedy was assassinated. For me, I recall clearly sitting in high school English hearing the media reports streaming on the internet. One of those instances that made me realize that the world was bigger than me, that there are important things going on here and now.

I agree, though I must say this: I think capitalism is a Republican invention.

People should always be before profits. Corporations have become the new monarchies and people have no choice but to be corporate grunts and wage slaves in order to make a living in this country.

Thank Goddess for sex work! When I can take the money (or so graciously receive) from the men working for the patriarchal corporations and put it back into things that support life instead of raping it, like organic gardening, that is what will undermine the system.

I think that video made me sick because if this is Democracy, how come we expect other countries to have democracy when we in America aren't meeting those standards as well.
