Atlanta’s an awesome city, and not far from me. Hope it’s a great vacation, and that you’re staying warm and dry!

I know you are busy with work but, have you been keeping up with the
“Climate-Gate” scandal ? I was curious if you had formed an opinion about this as you are interested in environmental matters. I for one hope these guys have been cooking the books as it will mean our environment is better off then we thought. I would still recomend some curbing of CO2 levels and other noxious compounds into the atmosphere as that would be good for everyone in the long run. Climate changes have occurred since the formation of the planet and they always will as we cannot control factors such as sun activity, etc… But if some scientists have been falsifying or not reporting data collected for environmental observations then we have another problem on our hands which is of a greedy and possibly political nature as a major change in the energy industry would undoubtedly bring. Not saying I agree 100% with what is being tossed about concerning global warming or global cooling but, all evidence should be taken into consideration before we make such a gigantic change in our way of life.

  • I have only briefly heard about this scandal, so I”m not completely familiar with the details.

I do think thought that if conservatives use this as an excuse to not do anything about the environment, they’re just proving themselves to be the selfish, greedy bastards everyone already knew they were.

The bottom line is, fossil fuels are not a sustainable resource, whether or not they greatly affect the global climate (which they do) we’re still running out and I think if people are REALLY concerned about BIG changes to their lives, culture and society as a whole, we should have been working on renewable sources of energy THIRTY YEARS AGO when the first oil crisis occurred.

Why not use wind, solar, electric etc? Why not have more people drive hybrids?

I’m sick of people grabbing for straws and trying to avoid being consumer assholes that just pollute the planet with their bullshit lifestyles and don’t stop to consider that without the planet you have nothing. We use this place for every single thing we need and at the end of the day we can’t think of better sustainable practices to make sure that we can at least keep using it as a resource?

  • Don’t forget the breeding licenses. The fewer rug rats, the less fossil fuel needed to make those huggies and pampers that go to a landfill, less fuel for soccer moms, less utilities for daycare, schools, prisons and executions. Not to mention if there are less expendable people the government might be more choosy to what war they send those extra people.

The sending people to war issue is not a conservative/liberal thing as weve had people on both sides of the isle send our young people into harm’s way. It is also not uniquely American as history has proven. I live in hope that people will one day come to their senses regarding our petty differences. Perhaps I am too much the idealist but, I feel in the future our commalities of origin and our birthplace will ultimatley prevail in our philosophy. I just hope that after we straighten ourselves out that we don’t bring our human baggage out into the galaxy. It would be ironic if we straightened ourselves out but, then repeated our history onto others or fellow humans who may end up living out there in the distant future.

  • Hello there! I know this is somewhat off topic but I was wondering if you knew where I could find a captcha plugin for my comment form? I’m using the same blog platform as yours and I’m having problems finding one? Thanks a lot!

  • I seriously get pleasure from your posts. Many thanks

  • Thank anyone for investing in this possibility to discuss this, I think firmly about it and my partner and i also enjoy learning about this sort of subject. Whenever possible, when you acquire specifics, you need to increase this website with fresh new information. We learned that extremely valuable.
