what to sayDear Blog Audience, As you may or may not have noticed, NiteFlirt, my main form of income up until recently, has taken a major shit. The site was undergoing some technical platform changes (or something) and there have been tons of glitches, money held, etc. I wasn’t paid for the entire month of September until recently (normally I have my money sent over everyday via direct deposit), which left me scrambling to find another source of income in a faltering economy when I wasn’t doing that well on NiteFlirt anyways. ![]() Photo by ArtCore Miami Well, I found my alternate source of income, it was a line of work I had planned on waiting till the winter to start, but things just kind of happened this way. How nice to be paid in an hour (or two or three) what would normally take me a week to earn on NiteFlirt. It hasn’t been a totally smooth road, however, but I am so thankful for my dreams and intuition for telling me whats coming up, and oh what creative metaphors they come in. Last week it was a crazy woman with wild hair and big red gum boots beating me with a broom made of dried sunflowers and sticks, yelling at me “Where are your eyes? Where are your eyeballs?”. Yes, thank you, dreamiverse. Where would I be without you? I’m also working on a video for IShotMyself.com. If there is anything in particular you’d like to see or want to hear me talk about in this video, do let me know. I’m trying to find my creativity again and with all of this new free time I suddenly have I find myself making lists of things that I’ve been wanting to do for a while. It’s also finally cooling down enough to start planting. This house doesn’t quite feel like home, though, and its been four months since we’ve moved in. Any suggestions on how to fix that would be great. Three GREAT documentaries everyone should see:
Um, so I guess thats it? Now we shall return to our regularly scheduled broadcast… p.s. Almost forgot I’m going to be filming new episodes for Masturbation Impossible (finally!) and may be accepting paid submissions from other pretty ladies and gents. 11 comments to what to say |

I was just thinking that I hadn’t seen anything new from you in a while and was hoping that everything was going well. Sounds like it is. So what’s the new line of work? Or do you not want to say that publicly?
I saw Capitalism: A Love Story this weekend. I may not always agree with everything Michael Moore says, but dammit, I love that guy. It was a great film.
What did you think of his theories in that film? I couldn’t believe that pilots are paid that low. It makes me nervous about ever flying again, lol. Perhaps I should come prepared with a tip? Jesus.
New line of work is paid companionship.
.
I used to fly small planes for fun (not professionally) and one of my flight instructors told me how incredibly poorly paid the pilots are for regional and charter airlines. A captain for a major airline can make a six-figure salary, but the career path to get there can take 15-20 years and often involves spending many years as a highly-trained-but-grossly-underpaid pilot as you rack up flight hours and experience in different types of aircraft (multi-engine, jets, etc.) It’s a truly sad state of affairs.
Like most people, I don’t want to see free enterprise abolished entirely. I don’t think the core ideas of free market capitalism are bad. But there’s a missing element – entities representing the needs and desires of the common people. That used to exist in the form of labor unions and government, but big business ultimately crippled the former and corrupted the latter, leaving us with the system we have today. The point Moore makes at the end of his film is an excellent one: we’re still a democracy, at least for now, and if we’d all get off our asses and start actually participating in government, it would begin once again to represent our interests rather than those of the lobbyists and the giant multinational corporations who pay them. I have an awful lot of opinions on this subject, so I think I’ll just leave it at that for now.
I thought paid companionship was probably what you were referring to. I hope it goes well for you.
I’m glad to read you’re all right. Well… you’ve been not so well but are slightly better now.
I don’t which is worse, professional or money problems, or THE FLUE?
This one is Moore’s best and a must-see. Unfortunately, he didn’t give us that much hope at the end that what he documents can be changed. Start small and think big, I guess.
When a friend of mine saw the new Michael Moore movie was coming out, he started talking about how we should all watch Milton Friedman’s “Free to Choose” video series. Some of it is on youtube. How do you feel about Milton Friedman?
I just have a quick question: are you going to do an update video on your victory garden project on youtube? I remember watching the original and I thought it was a really great idea, but to my knowledge there is only one video on the subject. I don’t know if you remember or not (I wouldn’t blame you if you forgot) but I started a small garden in my urban toilet of a residence on the strength of your example. I thought, and still do think, that victory gardens are a terrific way for everyone to grow their own food, save money, help the environment, and get off of the sofa, if nothing else. Growing some of my own food was a very rewarding experience. I had cucumbers, cilantro, basil, tomatoes, spinach, and a failed attempt at cantaloupe.
Have you started a new garden at your new residence? This is still in Florida, yes? So you have to plant in the winter months?
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that I liked that video. And all of your posts about gardening and food are awesome, in my opinion.
Glad your new line of work is working for you so well. I’m pretty pissed about NF myself.
I’d totally be in in shooting some stuff for Masturbation Impossible, just let me know
I am new here, but have enjoyed what I have read so far. But what is “Masturbation Impossible”?
Hey Sequoia, sounds like things are going well. I hope your home-creating is going well. I suggest putting up some pictures or posters to make your home more of a home, but I can relate to not feeling like a home. I have been struggling with some of the same feelings. Just wanted to drop by and say hello. KISSES
paid companionship! I’m so jealous of those who get to spend time with you.
