the great happiness space – a documentary

This is Issei.

Issei is, whats known in Japan as, a Host boy.

Host boys are these guys that dress really “stylish” and get paid to hang out with chicks in a Host Bar. Kinda sounds like a strip club huh? Except, their main, highest paying clientele are their female counterparts. Prostitutes.

Fascinating, eh?

They also make about $30,000-$50,000 a month. See, its not all about pussy!

The Great Happiness Space is a documentary I watched the other night, it centers on a Host Bar in Japan. It interviews the Host boys and their clientele and films the nightlife that takes place there.

Whats even more interesting about this doc is that it captures the women that go to these bars (prostitutes) complaining to the Host boys that they’re only in it for the money and saying how much they love their host.

I find this soooo interesting! When given a space to relax and pay for male attention, its mostly sex workers that pay for the business and its the same sex workers saying the same things that they’re probably told on a daily basis by their own clients.

WTF?

I googled male escorts in Miami a couple days ago, just out of curiosity. I thought it would be nice to get attention from a guy in a professional way, the same attention I give out every day so readily. Nothing helpful came up. Apart from one guy’s site who looked a bit sleazy. Eros had a section, but there was nothing in it.

So then I wondered why don’t we have host bars here? If we did and I went, would I fall in the same conundrum as the Japanese sex workers? Spending all of my savings to feel the emotions that I traffic on a daily basis?

For those of you thinking I should be getting that attention in my private life, yes I agree in a perfect world. But sometimes its nice to just pay for something without all of the emotional bullshit involved and just get a service that I have zero problem paying for.

The Great Happiness Space, watch it.
