the best kept secret: orgasmic birth

seriously? whooda thunk it?

I wonder what these children turn out like? Are they spiritually blessed?

I’ve never been a big fan of breeding, but this did make me re-think the whole process. I know mother’s are just as sexual as everyone else, but I’ve never really thought about having kids because of how much they seem to be a detriment to your sex life and overall well being. I know that seems like a pretty selfish outlook, but I think if more mother’s thought about the effect’s of raising a child on themselves you may get more quality parenting than the half-assed, unplanned mistakes that seem to be the norm.

Just a thought.

I learn something new everyday. Wow, you never think of child birth as wonderful like they say. I have seen the underwater births which also see to be more peaceful, but this would definitely be something to look into if you are planning a pregnancy. I wonder if it’s a whole pleasure and pain thing?

You know, I actually wish that more people would think like you do, about the potential long-term effects of having children. In fact, I think that it’s MORE selfish to have kids without thinking about it than to decide not to. I, for one, am much happier being a good husband than trying to divide my attentions between my wife and children. I get a lot of grief for being intentionally childless, but at least I’m not raising the monsters that I see most everyone else breeding.

So kudos to you. Stay childless. And know you’re not alone.

  • Ummm yeah…. Our baby was born Halloween Day at home… The midwife was only there for like the last 15 minutes of labor. Our daughter came to us breech and it was just me and my ex for the most part. She is totally holistic, but she is a Boca girl and I am kinda a country boy… Did not quite work but we have a wonderful beautiful little baby girl. Fuck hospital births…. For the most part seems like a big scam based on fear…. There are so many crazy statistics about birth in the US vs. the rest of the world who use midwifery…. If any of you ladies are pregnant or plan on it think twice about having your baby in a hospital and go the natural route… Better for the baby and the mama in the long run…… Just my two cents…. Was I not suppose to post here because I am a guy or something…. As far as the orgamic birth deal goes I kinda think its rubbish(thats just me) but I was like seeing through the veil during my daughters birth….. It was like a stobe like flashing between this world and another but I was totally present at the same time with the mama…. crazy is all I know….

I love your blog, and this post really hit home with me. I am a student midwife, doula and childbirth educator. My passion lies in there just as much as it does in sacred sexuality, homesteading and herbs.

I believe you would actually find it very interesting to research the home birth movement, and midwifery. Birth is a VERY overlooked feminist issue, and the fact it is male controlled is what keeps it overlooked. It is kept out of our hands for a reason!

I believe that children born to parents who truly want them, and make a conscious conception, grow up to be different than the rest of society. I had a bumper sticker that read “Peace on Earth Begins With Birth: Support Midwives”

I myself may not have children, but I definitely know that sacred sexuality, womyn’s mysteries, goddess worship and birth are intricately woven together.
